fyi, music scene here is broadening a bit… and art and food scenes are greatly increased. I've eaten at the last 2 restaurants featured in Diners Drive Ins and Dives, and both are excellent. Sad to say they aren't downtown, but definitely an improvement anyway, lol

How a bout an update on status of bid?

First of all, I'd like to be the first to congratulate you on winning the 2013 Worldcon bid. You're the only one on the ballot, so unless there's a massive write-in bid, you're it.

I was at LoneStarCon 2 and I had a great time. I've got a pre-supporting membership for the next one and I can't wait to come back. But I'd like to help out. I'd like the assist with setting up panels programming. I've done it before at Costume Con 5 some years ago. I know you've probably got someone local to head programming, so I'd like to assist this person.

Again, congratulations.

My wife and I paid to be pre-supporters at ConDFW. Will our names be listed soon?

Thanks,

Thanks for coming up to Capricon (at least it didn't snow)in Wheeling, IL. Your presence certainly piqued my interest. And having Paypal as a payment option for pre-supports was very convenient. Good Job!

I am VERY INTERESTED in getting WorldCON for San Antonio
in 2013.

I have some stuff that you can use. For the
WorldCON in 2013 PARTY room in HOTELs...
Sorry I could not make it for ALL-CON had to go home early
that night.

I Still have that "Texas 1997 WorldCON Flag" that I made for
the 1997 convention.
I spent until 3:00am in the mornings to finish it...It was
the first time I did something so time comsuming..

Items, that I got that the "WorldCON in San Antonio for 2013"
can use to decorate their part room. Which I can send you.

1)"Alamo Flag"
A version of the Mexican flag that has the year 1824
in place of Mexico's coutry's logo. Althought, no proof that such
a flag flew over the Alamo, it is alway refered to as the Alamao Flag.
http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/images/u/us-alamo.gif

2)"Texas Naval Flag"
A flag used by the Texas Navy from 1837-1845 when Texas was
an independent country with it's own Navy. Texas had the FIRST
steam powered warship in North America.
http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/images/u/us-tx~.gif

3)"The Gonzales Flag"
Made in 1835. After the first battle of independence which the Texians
won, the Mexican Army left some stuff behind. One of the equiptment
was a cannon, legend had it that it was personal property of a Mexican General
who was a aristocrat. At any rate, the Mexican's sent a message to the Texians requesting the return of their cannon.
The Texians responded by raising a flag banner, with a cannon over the
words "Come and Take It".

I can send these to the Staff of San Antonio in 2013.

Also, will you be at A-KON 21 in Dallas, Texas in June??
Maybe we can meet there..
