Chili Cook-Off Results

The Chili Cook-Off results were announced at the Closing Ceremonies. Winners were awarded a ribbon and a basket filled with such things as pepper-shaped terra cotta dishes, Texas popcorn, and bottles of hot sauce.

Brad Frank won for Friday night and revealed that his secret ingredient is portabello mushrooms. Saturday's winner was the Ramireño Ranch Chili by Derly N. Ramirez, Sr. (father of Events Tech Division Head Derly Ramirez, who also acted as M.C. for the closing ceremonies, but was not a chili judge, really). Sunday's winner was the generic chili provided by Judith Ward, who was running this culinary contest. The overall winner was the Ramireño Ranch Chili.

While fans enjoyed tasting and comparing chili each night, they made small donations for the privilege. By the end, we had raised a total of $563.50 for the San Antonio Public Library. Congratulations to one and all.
